Senior Account Executive (Dublin)

As a rapidly expanding PR and public affairs consultancy in Ireland, we are now looking to hire an ambitious Senior Account Executive who is eager to expand their career and learn about communications and public affairs from a domestic, European, and international perspective.

Candidates must have a keen interest in politics and current affairs as well as an interest in media relations.

Key role responsibilities include: 

  • Preparing briefing notes about political policy areas, media coverage or an industry-specific topic.
  • Arranging political meetings & attending with clients.
  • Drafting press releases.
  • Pitching press releases and feature ideas by phone or email to national, regional and trade journalists, across print, broadcast and online.
  • Responding to client and stakeholder phone calls and emails.
  • Arranging interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients.
  • Monitoring media coverage and report results to the wider team and clients.
  • Monitoring news coverage of political activity in both Ireland and abroad.
  • Monitoring Daily proceedings and flag matters of concerned raised to relevant clients.
  • Attending client events and industry conferences (remotely and in person once it is safe to do so).
  • Supporting on new business development which will include proposal writing and pitching support.
  • Handling clients’ social media accounts such as their Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn.
  • Brainstorming fresh ideas for PR campaigns.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in communications, politics and/or media roles. Agency experience is preferable but not necessary.
  • Fluent English language skills in both written and verbal communications (an additional EU language would be advantageous but not essential).
  • A third-level degree in communications, public relations, marketing, politics, humanities, or any related subject.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills.
  • Good Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • An interest and knowledge of social media.
  • A strong interest in current affairs.
  • An appetite to work hard and progress with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability and desire to continuously learn new areas of policy.

Competitive and dependent on experience.

Travel

You may be required to travel outside of Dublin for new business pitches and, at times, to our London and Brussels offices.

Covid -19

You would begin your career with Cicero/amo working remotely. The situation is being monitored and we will advise when it is suitable to return to the office. In the future, we envisage the role to be hybrid, based between remote and office working.
