Research Manager

Cicero Group’s Research team are looking to recruit a Research Manager to support its rapidly expanding client base. The selected candidate will join a creative and motivated group of research, communications and marketing professionals working across a wide-range of projects and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with clients to understand and document the business objectives of research, communications and marketing projects
  • Account management, isolating upsell opportunities, writing proposals, requesting feedback and looking to continually build stronger relationships with existing clients
  • Oversight of project management to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables across several client projects. Building and delivering end to end project plans for a range of products.
  • Creating high-level written content across a range of tones and contexts to support research, communications and marketing projects. Using primary and secondary data to form a clear narrative.
  • Some responsibility for the oversight management of other team members

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • 5 years’ experience in the marketing or communications industry
  • 1 to 3 years of written content creation experience – likely in an agency or think tank
  • 1 to 3 years of financial services experience
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Ideally experience of working in marketing/communications research
  • Strong verbal communication abilities
  • Strong analytical and data visualisation skills
  • Very proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint – and demonstrates a high degree of creativity, care and attention to detail in all outputs
  • Preferably some experience in managing other team members

Senior Account Executive – Dublin, Ireland

We are looking for a Senior Account Executive to join our Dublin team, based in our Dublin office.

We are looking to for someone with up to 3 years’ experience in communications and/or politics who is eager to learn and practice communications and public affairs from a domestic, European and international perspective in a fast paced agency environment. The candidate must have a keen interest in politics and current affairs as well as an interest in media relations.

Requirements:

  • Preparing briefing notes about political policy areas, media coverage or an industry-specific topic
  • Supporting the senior team with press release writing
  • Pitching press releases and feature ideas by phone or email to national, regional and trade journalists, across print, broadcast and online
  • Responding to phone calls and emails
  • Arranging interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients
  • Monitoring media coverage and report results to the wider team and clients
  • Monitoring news coverage of political activity in both Ireland and abroad
  • Monitoring Dáil proceedings and flag matters of concerned raised to relevant clients
  • Attending client events and industry conferences
  • Supporting the senior team on new business development which will include proposal writing and pitching support
  • Handling clients’ social media accounts such as their Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn page
  • Contributing fresh ideas for PR campaigns
  • Travel outside of Dublin for pitches and, at time, to our London and Brussels offices.

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • Up to 3 years work experience in communications or politics.
  • Agency experience is preferable but not essential.
  • Fluent English, additional EU languages would be desirable but not essential.
  • A third level degree in communications, public relations, marketing, politics or any related subject. PR qualifications from the PRCA or Chartered Institute of Public Relations are also excepted.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Good PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • An interest and knowledge of social media
  • A strong interest in current affairs
  • A proactive attitude to work hard and progress
