Research Manager

Cicero Group’s Research team are looking to recruit a Research Manager to support its rapidly expanding client base. The selected candidate will join a creative and motivated group of research, communications and marketing professionals working across a wide-range of projects and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with clients to understand and document the business objectives of research projects
  • Account management, isolating upsell opportunities, writing proposals, requesting feedback and looking to continually build stronger relationships with existing clients
  • Oversight of project management to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables across several client projects. Building and delivering end to end project plans from design to reporting of research projects
  • Creating high-level written report content using primary and secondary data to form a clear narrative, as well as create strong presentation slides that showcase a keen eye for detail
  • Some responsibility for the oversight management of other team members

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • 5 years’ experience in the market research industry
  • 1 to 3 years of financial services experience
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Ideally experience of working in marketing/communications research
  • Strong verbal communication abilities
  • Strong analytical and data visualisation skills
  • Very proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint – and demonstrates a high degree of creativity, care and attention to detail in all outputs
  • Preferably some experience in managing other team members

Senior Account Executive – EU Public Affairs

The role:

Cicero Group’s EU Public Affairs team are looking for a dynamic Senior Account Executive. The role will be in a fast-moving consultancy environment helping our clients stay on top of the busy EU legislative landscape.

You can be based in London or Brussels with travel in either direction!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and managing client deliverables on a daily basis
  • Monitoring the policy environment
  • Providing analysis and informed opinions on monitored policy/news as described above both in written form and verbally
  • Preparing regular client reports, drafting and attending client meetings
  • Helping to develop public affairs plans and strategies
  • Taking a proactive approach to networking to create new client connections as well as maintaining existing relationships
  • Working as part of an account team to assist colleagues in developing pitch proposals and take ownership for production of appropriate sections of the pitch proposal as required
  • Helping to direct Account Executives

Experience required: 

  • 2-3 years’ work experience in an EU Public Affairs role – consultancy and/or European institution, trade association or equivalent organisation is essential
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of EU legislative and policy landscape is essential
  • Experience of working in a Brussels context

Account Executive – UK Public Affairs

Cicero Group is the UK’s largest independent public affairs agency and we are looking for an entry level Account Executive to join our expanding UK Public Affairs team. The purpose of the role is to work as a key member of our client account team, assisting with client management, account delivery, research and monitoring the busy UK Public Affairs landscape and writing briefings to delivery excellent insight and strategic direction to our clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinating and managing client deliverables on a daily basis.
  • Organising meetings and client calls; writing and circulating meeting agendas and taking notes and action points in client calls and meetings.
  • Monitoring the policy environment and media; including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires and blogs, for relevant opportunities for clients.
  • Political analysis on monitored policy/news as described above both in written form and verbally.
  • Keeping up to date with political and current affairs and flagging important developments to team and clients.
  • Preparing regular client reports and attending client meetings.
  • Helping to develop public affairs plans and strategies.
  • Taking a proactive approach to networking to build new client connections.
  • Working as part of an account team to assist colleagues in developing pitch proposals and take ownership for production of appropriate sections of the pitch proposal as required.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent knowledge of UK Parliament, politics and the parliamentary process.
  • 6 months – 1 year experience in a relatable role (such as internships in Parliament, working for an MP or in a Public Affairs agency).

  • Highly competent in all written communications.

Intern – EU Public Affairs

Just finished university or a traineeship? Interested in European politics? Want to learn from our EU public affairs experts and get involved in political consultancy in a turbulent and interesting time for European politics?

Cicero Group are looking for an intern to join our EU Public Affairs team.   

 The role:

Cicero Group is looking for an intern to join our EU government relations team. Based in London, the placement will last for an initial period of three months with the possibility of extension. The role will be in a fast moving environment supporting our client teams staying on top of the busy EU legislative landscape. The position will offer the candidate the opportunity to gain exposure to a multitude of policy areas and serve as an introduction to public affairs. The position will be based in London with the potential opportunity to travel to Brussels.

 Main tasks: 

  • Providing detailed policy and legislative background briefings
  • Monitoring and tracking the EU legislative agenda
  • Building and maintaining stakeholder maps
  • Drafting engagement correspondence
  • Broader support for client teams in day-to-day account delivery 

  The ideal candidate will have: 

  • A keen interest in EU policy, politics, economics and business; with any prior experience of EU policy or politics a significant asset
