Account Executive – UK Public Affairs – Property

Cicero Group are looking for an entry level graduate as an Account Executive to join our fast-growing UK Public Affairs team. We are looking for an excellent communicator with an interest in the property sector. Additional experience of local government, planning, housing and consultation would be desirable.

The purpose of the role is to work as a key member of our client account team, assisting with client management, account delivery, research and monitoring the busy the local political landscape to deliver excellent insight and strategic direction to our clients.  

In this role you will develop account management and consultancy skills to maintain positive client relationships, identify issues which impact client activity, and contribute to profitable accounts.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinating and managing client deliverables daily. 
  • Monitoring the local political environment and media; including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, for relevant clients.
  • Organising meetings and client calls; writing and circulating meeting agendas and taking notes and action points in client calls and meetings. 
  • Observing planning committees and issuing concise reports to clients.
  • Preparing research reports on local politics.
  • Compiling messaging plans for new developments.
  • Drafting letters and newsletters for local stakeholders.
  • Organising public exhibitions and community group events/drop-in sessions.
  • Taking a proactive approach to networking to build new client connections. 
  • Working as part of an account team to assist colleagues in developing pitch proposals and take ownership for production of appropriate sections of the pitch proposal as required.
  • Attending industry events, networking and spotting new business possibilities.

Senior Account Manager – EU Public Affairs

Cicero Group’s EU Public Affairs team are looking for a dynamic Senior Account Manager to work as a leading member of our EU Public Affairs client account teams, mainly within the finanical services sector.  The role will be in a fast-moving environment helping our clients stay on top of the busy EU legislative landscape.

You will be based in Brussels, with some travel to our offices in London and Dublin.

Responsibilities:

  • Building and managing public affairs campaigns (legislative and non-legislative).
  • Developing a detailed knowledge of policy and legislative issues.
  • Monitoring, tracking and analysing the EU legislative agenda.
  • Helping to develop Cicero Group’s external presence including drafting briefings for public distribution, generating content for our website and supporting the development of our social media profile.
  • Supporting new business activity including working on pitches, and identifying and converting prospective new business targets.
  • Day to day team management.

What your profile will look like:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role; consultancy/agency experience would be advantageous but you may have a mixture of experience in consultancy, European institutions and/or trade associations.
  • Knowledge and experience within financial services
  • Knowledge and experience of the EU legislative and policy landscape is essential.
  • Experience of managing public affairs campaigns and interacting with clients is preferred although comparable experience is also welcome.
  • Experience of working in a Brussels context.
  • Experience or appetite to manage and developing junior members of a team.

Account Director – Policy Thought Leadership

Cicero Group is looking to recruit an Account Director with financial services public policy experience and knowledge to support our rapidly expanding thought leadership and campaigns team. The selected candidate will join a creative and motivated group of research, public policy, communications and marketing professionals working across a wide range of projects and clients in the financial services sector.

Main responsibilities:

  • Maintaining oversight of client accounts and relationships and provide an expert consultative voice with regards to campaign strategy, interpreting research findings, writing reports and creating other campaign content.
  • Working closely with other members of the team the successful candidate will ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables across several client projects. Building and delivering end-to-end projects overseeing a project management team.
  • Using primary and secondary data to form a strong and distinctive narrative to help drive a wide range of integrated public policy, communications and marketing campaigns. 
  • Providing a consistently excellent consultative voice on all client presentations, demonstrating wider industry knowledge and experience in Financial Services policy and able to effectively handle client questions and challenges where raised.
  • Supporting the new business function by developing strong client relationships, supporting in new client meetings, delivering high-quality end-to-end proposals and play a vital role, when required, in client pitches.
  • It is important that the candidate can bring a strong working knowledge of public policy and financial services to help create high quality written content across a range of tones and contexts to support research, communications and marketing projects. 

Requirements:

  • 5 years’ experience in a research, public affairs, marketing or communications industry
  • 5 years’ experience within the financial services sector – demonstrating a complex understanding of the regulatory and business environment within which firms in that space operate
  • Strong client facing experience and strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ideally experience of using research to deliver marketing, communications or lobbying activity
  • Very proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint – and demonstrates a high degree of creativity, care and attention to detail in all outputs

  • An effective manager – able to take ownership both of client relationships and their team internally in order to deliver consistently high-quality outputs and client experience
