Political risk analysis

The economic upheaval caused by the financial crisis means that companies and markets are under unprecedented political scrutiny. It is increasingly our view that in this post-crisis world, political risk has become a feature of doing business in the developed world just as it is in developing and emerging markets.

As political risks climb up corporate risk registers, our team helps clients to understand how political developments can translate into material business risks. We are regularly called on to brief senior leadership of world-class companies on political risks for their businesses - recently advising on the eurozone crisis, the Scottish Independence Referendum and forthcoming UK General Election.

Examples of our analysis include 2014’s Risk Returns report, which looked at risks for the UK's financial sector and 2015's Curve Balls reports which looked at global political risks for business in the year ahead. We produced both reports for the Chartered Insurance Institute's global membership.

Members of Cicero's global team are regular speakers and media commentators on global political risk issues and are available for print, online or broadcast interview.
