Cicero was proud to host an event on workplace equality on International Women’s Day with our partners E2W. Our expert panel comprised of Anna Wallace, Head of UK Political Relations at PwC and Executive Member of the Women in Public Affairs network, Iain Anderson, Executive Chairman at Cicero and one of the top 100 global LGBT+ Executives according to OUTstanding, the professional network for LGBT and Ally senior executives, Tina Freed, Co-Founder at E2W, a financial services recruitment agency specialising in helping women manage their careers, and Diane Pinto, Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Aberdeen Asset Management.

The panel discussed equality in the workplace, the role of regulators and politicians in bringing about change, key industry initiatives such as the Women in Finance Charter, and any areas where further progress needs to be prioritised.

The panel noted how the diversity debate should value things we have in common rather than just talk about differences, how there should be pressure on investors to take diversity issues into account, and that more companies should make public declarations of their diversity targets. There were also calls for more support in place for women facing choices over the direction of their career and the role of all employees in calling out unconscious bias.
